The Washington Redskins tamed the Jaguars and are flying North to Ring the Eagles Bell.

The Redskins tamed the Jaguars and are heading North to Ring the Eagles Bell.

Is there really anyone surprised that Robert Griffin III will not be making it through a complete NFL Season AGAIN?  After Griffin was injured and couldn't move on a "no contact" play, the Football game continued as he laid there motionless.  Kirk Cousins throw a touchdown pass on his first play on the field and then the crowd cheered as RGIII was removed from FedExField as the Redskins starting quarterback.  I pray for Griffin's speedy recovery so that he can make it on the trade block by week 6.  The Seattle Seahawks knew what they were doing when they "Bullied" 3 first round draft picks from a desperate Washington team for the opportunity to have "RGKnee".

DeSean Jackson aggravated his shoulder early in the Jacksonville Blowout but will not be missing this match-up against his former Philadelphia Eagles team.  Jackson has been looking forward to making the second year Head Coach Chip Kelly and his Eagles pay for the decision to start gang related rumors and cut him.  I'm sure the shoulder may just need a "Get Right" Injection (much like the one RGII got his first year) and a "Addaboy" to be a dominate force on Sunday.

During DeSean's Post Game interview at Redskins Park, there wasn't one person who could ask the "Million Dollar Questions".  "Does this remind you of Michael Vick getting hurt and then Nick Foles coming which ended up being your best year ever in the league?  How do you feel about having a real opportunity to be a Leading Receiver in the NFL now that you have a great quarterback to get you the ball?  When you score a touchdown against the Eagles on Sunday, what gang signs if any will you throw up at Coach Kelly?"

Alexander Ovechkin (Ovie) vs. Robert Griffin III (RGIII)

Robert Griffin III vs. Alexander Ovechkin

If you're a true Washington D.C . fan than you love the Washington Redskins and the Washington Capitals.  As the Washington Nationals and the Washington Wizards couldn't seem to get a winning season together, the Caps and Redskins had the "Superstar Additions" that gave our city hope.   In 2004, the Caps signed the most electrifying player to ever take the ice, Alexander Ovechkin!  A few years later, we witnessed one of the greatest quarterback draft classes that the NFL Combine has ever produced.  That was so exciting because the Redskins were guaranteed one of the best QB Rookies in the Nation.  Why couldn't we ride off in the sunset and have some rings or cups to show for these additions?

Alexander Ovechkin and Sidney Crosby (Center for the Pittsburgh Penguins) were both promised to the be the best players in the NHL.  Ovie could out skill the skill players and punish the bruising brawling opponents.  There's certainly not many players like him but Crosby had a very similar skill set that set himself apart in pressure situations.  Crosby won the Olympics for Canada and the Stanley Cup for the Penguins as Ovie couldn't seem to claim victory in the "win or go home" games for Russia or the Caps.

The Heisman Trophy winning Robert Griffin III could arguably be the best player in the 2012 NFL Draft as the Washington Redskins traded up with Seattle for the second spot.  RGIII definitely has the potential to be great and has already done great things but wasn't the first pick overall for a reason.  Much like the Sydney Crosby, Alexander Ovechkin comparison, the NFL has already highlighted Griffin as injury prawn and unable to 100% bounce back from them.  Although Andrew Luck (The 2012 NFL Draft First Overall Pick) has not won a Super Bowl yet which seems to be the way great players are measured, he's clearly a better quarterback and leader at this point than RGIII.

Washington Redskins 2014 lose their first game against the Houston Texans.

Redskins were no match for J.J. Watt

The game started with the Fox Commentators announcing that Washington Redskins Head Coach Jay Gruden wanders around the stadium before the game with "No Clue" of where he is.  They then stated that Gruden had to call a taxi to get back to his hotel room in Houston.  By the end of the game it was pretty clear that he still may not know where his is.  Hopefully he can remember that he was hired to be the Redskins Head Coach and they need some more offense and a lot of help on the Special Teams.

After a couple of 1st quarter empty possessions, the Redskins managed to hand it off to Full Back Mike Sellers for a second attempt touchdown.  This would be the first and last time that Skins could find the sacred sod. The extra point was then blocked by none other than Super Star Defensive Lineman J.J. Watt which set the course of the remainder of the game.  The Houston Texans took advantage of a defensive blown play as they answered with a 76 yard touchdown toss to DeAndre Hopkins. On the Redskins next drive punted the ball into the hand of Alfred Blue (block punt) and he returned it for a touchdown.

The Texans number one draft pick Jadeveon Clowney left the game with an leg injury and did not return.  This really was not a big deal since Watt made enough plays for the both of them.  The Washington Redskins have the play of RB Alfred Morris to hang their hat on as he racked up.  Ryan Kerrigan made a great play to try and keep the Redskins in the game by stripping Arian Foster inside the 10 yard line.  The Washington Redskins just could not seem to get anything going and QB Robert Griffin III seemed have half of the skill, half of the speed or his Rookie year and only scored in one half of the game.

THE DALLAS COWBOYS LOBBY FOR THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS TO CHANGE THEIR NAME by Ron Robey

FIGHT FOR OLD D.C. AND KEEP OUR REDSKINS NAME!!!

It's a proven fact that 90% of Native Americans are not offended by the NFL team named the Washington Redskins.  I would imagine that 10% of Native Americans are also offended by the label "Native Americans."  In addition, you could further make an argument that 35% would rather be referred to as one of the 566 Native American Tribes legally recognized by the Bureau of Indian Affairs of the United States.  The Washington Redskins are certainly a team that is in the center of the "Politically Correct" atmosphere of our Nations Capital.  For this reason the Washington Redskins should absolutely be protected as it's heritage and history runs deep like roots of a tree into America.

I would have to say that the Dallas Cowboys and their owner Jerry Jones are behind this name change distraction.  With the Redskins recent acquisition of DeSean Jackson and successfully securing their key returning veterans, the Cowboys are in que for another 8 and 8 season.  Maybe if they could get this "Washington Redskins" name change conspiracy and this fumble of a trademark embarrassment to grab the short lived spotlight, it would be just enough to disrupt training camp.  When the haters are piling up and you haven't started fighting yet, something great is about to happen in Jesus name!  #HTTR

"STOP TAKING AWAY MY RIGHTS, FREEDOM AND HERITAGE BECAUSE OF A FEW OFFENDED PEOPLE"

Why can my daughters no longer say "One Nation under God" when they're reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at school?

Why are you politically incorrect when you say "Merry Christmas" to someone?  Clearly a majority of people believe that Jesus Christ (the Son of God) was sent to earth to die for our sins.

How long before our slowly declining United States of America currency has "In God we Trust" removed from it because of offended people?

My Family Heritage is as important as my ancestors even though I apparently "Do Not" have the right to be offended being a Hetero-sexual Caucasian Male.

The Washington Redskins have been apart of my family for generations and I'm offended that you're offended enough to rob my heritage.

The Washington Redskins prepare to pick 2nd in the 2nd round of the 2014 NFL Draft by Ron Robey

THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS ARE READY TO WIN!

It's no secret that the Washington Redskins traded the St. Louis Rams 3 first round and 1 2nd round draft pick to secure Robert Griffen III with the second pick of the 2012 NFL Draft.  The Redskins would have been selecting 2nd overall in the 2014 draft due to their pitiful performance last year but the Rams benefited instead due to the desperate deal.  Washington has made some pretty bold moves considering the recent acquisition of DeSean Jackson and can by no stretch call this season a rebuilding year.  If the Skins do not make it to the Championship Game in the 2014 Season, these moves are a bust and they will leave a similar expression on their fans as Johnny Manziel's face as the Dallas Cowboys passed on him.

This 2014 season has the potential to be a legitimate Super Bowl run for the Redskins as they retained Brian Orakpo, Santa Moss, Ryan Kerrigan, DeAngelo Hall and other high paid returning athletes.  With fingers crossed, the Skins must restructure a few deals to make cap roof for draft picks and are predicted to concentrate on getting their defense solid with their first pick.  Remember that Alfred Morris was drafted in the 6th round of the 2012 draft.  He earned his way into the discussion of "Rookie of the Year" and the 2014 "Cover of Madden 15".

With all of the weapons locked and loaded, the Washington Redskins can only count on rookie head coach Jay Gruden for direction.  It's equally important for the Veteran Players to provide leadership which with London Fletcher retired the Skins will have to manufacture deep in their roster.  Will RG3 be able to duplicate and/or exceed his "Rookie Year" performance after announcing his decision to play without his knee brace in 2014?  Will the Washington Redskins locker room be strong with a questionable DeSean Jackson injected into it?  I'm sure anything has to be better than losing most of your matchups under Mike Shanahan egotistical coaching style.  We would love to hear your thoughts!  #HTTR +Ron Robey

DeSean Jackson / DeAngelo Hall meets with Washington Redskins Jay Gruden / Bruce Allen to FINALIZE deal by Ron Robey.

The Washington Redskins just got better!!!

Former four time Pro Bowl Philadelphia Eagles Receiver / Punt Returner DeSean Jackson met with Washington Redskins Quaterback Robert Griffin III in LA today.  This meeting was to discuss the possibility of joining this once dominate Redskins franchise.  It's important to star players to remain in the spotlight and have their hands on the ball as much as possible.  This being said, chemistry builds confidence between a QB and his Receiver.  Quite frankly there has been enough drama with "I need more attention" player disruptions like a Terrell Owens and/or a Dez Bryant type of teammate.  The other item to discuss would be DeSean Jackson having to change his number since RGIII wears number 10.

Redskins Cornerback DeAngelo Hall has found his way back into the spotlight recently after the release and possible addition of his fearless rival.  DJax and DHall together would be the first reason you would think team chemistry would suffer but Hall announced from the highest rooftops that Jackson would make the team better and he's all for it.  This was no surprise as Hall actually scored more points by himself than the entire offense in the first half of the first 5 games last season combined.  Obviously Hall would welcome anyone who could score a touchdown after last years 3 and 13 performance.  Check out the full blog at http://washingtonredskins2014.blogspot.com/

DeSean Jackson left LA and flew into Dulles International Airport where he was introduced to mob of reporters.  Escaping with the traditional ear phones drowning out any questions, Jackson proceeded to meet Jay Gruden (Redskins Rookie Head Coach) and Bruce Allen (Redskins GM) for a dinner meeting.  Tuesday will be the official meeting between the Washington Redskins and DeSean Jackson where Dan Snyder will be present for the expected signing of (DJax) the biggest fish in the sea of NFL Free Agency 2014.  The Redskins have 6.4 million of cap room at this time and are one of the few teams that can pay market value for a player of Jackson's talent.  Rebuilding is over, the only goal would be to take the Skins from the worst team in the NFL to the SUPER BOWL in Jesus name, Amen.

DeSean Jackson is coming to the Washington Redskins and is going helpthis 3 - 13 team get over the hump!!! By Ron Robey

DESEAN JACKSON IS COMING TO THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS!

Are you ready to play for a real team?  Come on down 95 and be a Redskin!

Following the news of  Superstar Wide Receiver DeSean Jackson being released from the Philadelphia Eagles yesterday, he's now meeting with the Washington Redskins next week.  Rookie Head Coach Jay Gruden will have one leg up on the season with the addition of this Pro Bowl Kick Return Specialist and Wide Receiver.  Jackson has a pile of interested teams to include but not limited to the Chiefs and Buccaneers.  He will likely sign with the Redskins due to the distance of Landover, MD is to Philidelphia, PA and joining the explosive playmaker in Robert Griffin III.

SOME OF JACKSONS FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENTS

1.  First Player to be selected for the Pro Bowl in two different positions.

2.  First Rookie to start for Andy Reid due to some key injuries.

3.  First game that was decided on a Punt Return final play during the "Miracle at the New Meadowlands" game.

4.  First player that will bring the RG3 Led Redskins to the NFL Super Bowl!  You heard it here first!!!

DeSean currently has 131 Punt Return attempts for a total of 1,294 yards with 4 touchdowns.  His equally brilliant receiving career is also impressive with 356 catches for 6,117 yards scoring 32 Touchdowns.  In addition to these stats, Jackson has rushed 57 times for 373 yards and 3 touchdowns in his only 6 short seasons with 3 Pro Bowl selections.  The Washington Redskins will have all the fire power necessary to win with Pierre Garcon, Santana Moss and DeSean Jackson catching the ball and with Alfred Morris and Roy Helu Jr. running the ball.  Let's get pumped up for the 2014 Season!!!  :)  #HTTR - Ron Robey #mrronrobey

WASHINGTON REDSKINS in FREE AGENCY, Remember SEAN TAYLOR, RG3 without a KNEE BRACE and RICHARD SHERMAN mic'ed up with SKINS by Ron Robey

The Washington Redskins must return to GLORY!!!

The Washington Redskins have made a bunch of great moves that have not drawn to much attention so far this off-season.  To start, signing MLB Perry Riley Jr.and SS Brandon Meriweather are very important to team chemistry and will a make it much easier for new Head Coach Jay Gruden going forward.  With the 4 time Pro Bowl selection London Fletcher in retirement, the defense needs some tenured leaders in a constantly changing NFL roster.  You're linebacker and Strong Safety returning for another year is key to commanding the defense as a quarterback runs the offense in real-time on the field.

Robert Griffin III has made the news recently with his remarks of playing without his knee brace in the 2014 season.  I think it's great that RG3 will be able to maximize his mobility if he can stay healthy long enough to be productive in the playoffs.  Obviously making it to the NFL Playoffs would be the first goal for a 3 and 13 team previously coached by "You're not Mike Shenahan, I am" Mike Shenahan.  Griffin told reporters a few days ago that "We'll shock people this year" and he may be right as the Redskins shocked people last year with how poorly they played.  Either way, watch in the video below how much class RG3 can have with one of the most difficult NFL players in the game. (Richard Sherman)   #HTTR

On a positive note, let's look at the free agency move to secure CB Tracy Porter which will be an adequate replacement for CB Josh Wilson (if he's not signed).  With the Redskins Defense beefed up, their offense led by RG3 has enough weapons but is lacking a "STAR PLAYER" in the TE position.  Hopefully TE Jordan Reed will step up and be among one of the leagues greats in 2014.  I'm SUPER EXCITED for the 2014 season with the new additions of Defensive Lineman Clifton Geathers and LB Darryl Sharpton.   Holla at your boy Ron Robey.

Washington Redskins avoided the "BIG SPLASH" in free agency and have elected to take a "BACK SEAT" by Ron Robey

Dan Gruden new Washington Redskins Head Coach

The Washington Redskins are back!!!

The Washington Redskins had to have one of the worst seasons in Skins history with only a few others to consider if any.  Robert Griffin III started off slow and couldn't seem to get anything going in the first half as the Redskins coaching set up between Shenahan and Snyder spiraled out of control.  In the end if there was a board on the wall at Redskins camp (like 27 days without an injury on the job poster) it would read, 1 as in one day without a rumor that got out.  There's no chance that RG3 is going to spit and sputter this year under Bengals Offensive Coordinator which is now the new Washington Redskins Head Coach.

The Redskins seem to be having a bit of trouble with Fred Davis who has been suspended indefinitely by the NFL for breaking their substance abuse rules again.  Davis spent a few games on suspension last year but not long enough to learn his lesson apparently.  Strike him off of the list of players including Brandon Meriweather, Perry Riley, Josh Wilson which are free agents.  You're needing a strong safety in a bad way while you pass up on CB Derrelle Revis and don't secure any of the 6 best available Safety's?  Sometimes more is lost in indecision than the wrong decision.

On a positive note, London Fletcher is speaking out with his advice on what the team should be doing including but not limited to acquiring Revis.  The Redskins have re-signed veteran players Brian Orakpo, DeAngelo Hall and Santana Moss while releasing Adam Carriker for the 2014 Season.  This IS NOT a re-building year, that's why we gave up our draft picks for RG3.  You need to perform like this is your last chance in 2014 because you might be right.  :)  The Redskins are currently 20 million dollars under the NFL mandated 130 million dollar salary cap. -Ron Robey

Week 6 The Washington Redskins offense can't find the endzone before the Defense so far this season. Redskins 16, Cowboys 31

Even the fans are wondering why the Redskins can't seem to find the endzone in Arlington.

Field Goals aren't enough in today's NFL

Cowboys Jason Hatcher stripping RG3
It's no secret that I have NOT been looking forward to writing this update after that disappointing football performance from the Redskins last Sunday night.  Here it is Saturday and I'm just now getting over the piss pour production by the Washington offense against their number 1 rival, the Dallas Cowboys.  How many times can a team kick a field goal when they need to find pay dirt?  Kyle Shanahan, it's time to hit the eject button on your game plan and let RG3 call the plays like Peyton Manning does.

Ok, the streak continues with the Redskins defense finding the endzone before the offense in every game this season so far.  The defense has actually outscored the offense in the first half by a double digit multiple.  In today's NFL, the new "player safety" rules has allowed offenses to score more points than ever.  For some reason the Redskins still can't seem to score a F'ing touchdown consistently.
The Redskins Special Teams puts a new meaning on the word "Special"

Dez Bryant led the Cowboys with 71 yards
The Washington Redskins had a few holes in their 52 man roster as the Cowboys special teams embarrassingly pointed out.  Dwayne Harris returned a punt for 86 yards and then again returned a kickoff for 90.  With the exception of those two plays, the Redskins Defense played really well holding the Cowboys leading wide receiver Dez Bryant to 4 catches totalling 71 yards.  Dez left the game with a back injury and Jason Garrett informed the media in the post game press conference that Bryant could hardly walk.

The Redskins face the Chicago Bears tomorrow at Fedex and are getting closer and closer to a must win situation.  If they continue to lose, we will start addressing a mathematical miracle that will keep the commercial spots sold however the season will be realistically over.  Remain positive and rebound by kicking the Bears ass tomorrow would be a step in the right direction.

If you live in the Dallas, TX / DFW Metroplex or live in the Washington, DC / Northern Virginia Metropolitan area, please check out my Christmas Light Installation blog for the 2013 Holiday Decoration Season.  Thank you so much to the over 1000 people who have already seen this Redskins blog!!!  Write a paragraph or two and I'll put it on here for you.  469-269-2838 (AVET)

Week 4 The turning point for the biggest game of the season so far in Dallas!!! Redskins 24, Raiders 14

Redskins are headed to Dallas for the game of the week!!

Sunday Night Football, Redskins and the Cowboys!

The Washington Redskins pulled off a convincing victory over the Oakland Raiders in their week 4 contest.  It's another defensive touchdown in the first half that created a spark for the Skins.  This time the play was made by CB David Amerson to continue the defenses record of outscoring the offense in the first half so far this year.  RG3 however did put the offense back on the map (as usual) in the second half scoring by connecting with the unstoppable force of Pierre Garcon.  The more involved Garcon is in the playbook the more successful the Redskins will become as the season continues.

Redskins Cowboys game last Thanksgiving.
The best part about having a "bye week" is so you can regroup and rest your players during the NFL season.  This early break could have been a crippling blow to a potential 0-4 Redskins team which is what made this win so important.  The Redskins certainly are unable to receive another loss or win during the "bye week" however a collection of W's are the key to enter the playoffs.  Begin with taking the win on the road in Oakland and then route for the Cowboys to lose so that we can set up a game for the number 1 spot in the division. Ready break.

Ron Robey and Brandon Carr at Elevate Life Church
If you were near a TV on Sunday and witnessed Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos handle a 0-14 deficit in the first quarter against the Cowboys you should leave a comment at moresalesman@gmail.com and I'll post it on the next blog.  The Denver Broncos and Dallas Cowboys battled the whole game until an overtime interception thrown by quarterback Tony Romo ended the game.  This play was very similar to the Pittsburgh game last year when Ben Roethlisberger threw away the game to Cowboys DB Brandon Carr in overtime.  When I spoke to Brandon last, he didn't appear to be rooting for the Redskins in this matchup but didn't mind posing for a picture.  lol  There's no chance the Redskins would have put up almost 50 points in a football game the way they score in the first half so our hope is on the Defense again.  #HTTR

Week 3 The Washington Redskins pull off their third "Victory" in week 3 by keeping it a close game the whole game against the Lions. Redskins 20, Lions 27

Will the real Washington Redskins please stand up.

RG3 diving forward and losing the football as he hit the ground
There's no question that the Washington Redskins played the best game of the season so far against the Detroit Lions last Sunday.  With so many unanswered questions on this Redskins team, a true fan would route for the Skins but certainly wouldn't bet any money on the game without taking some points.  The Lions match up however seemed to actually be winnable and the close game gave our fans a glimmer of hope.  Week 3, 0-3 it's time for the real Washington Redskins to please stand up or refund the money I spent on my Chris Cooley, Sean Taylor and RG3 jerseys. SMH (Shaking my head)

The game started out with a momentum changing play by Defensive Cornerback DeAngelo Hall as he returned an interception for another first quarter touchdown.  On a side note, DeAngelo Hall actually has scored more points in the first half of Redskins games on defense this season than the offense has.  If this trend continues into week 4, there has to be some changes in the offense with my target set directly on
Redskins offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan game planning for the next week
Kyle Shanahan .  (Offensive Coordinator and Head Coach Dan Shanahan's son)  Hey Dan, I know he's your son but please consider the absence of job security in the NFL and the absence of wins in your teams record.  Kyle, the Skins may be going to the Super Bowl with a "tight spiral" metaphorically if you can imagine the Redskins season like dirty water spinning around before exiting a toilet bowl. SMH

Bill Belichick caught cheating
Jim Haslett (Defensive Coordinator) and the Redskins thirty second ranked pass defense on the other hand are not far away from my crosshairs either.  Can you guess how many teams are in the NFL?  There are 32 teams in the NFL and Washingtons star OLB (Outside Linebacker) Brian Orakpo is one of the best at his position.  Orakpo left the game early on Sunday after getting his "Bell Rung" and didn't return until after the first half.  The mere fact that he returned means that his head injury wasn't a concussion as the NFL takes them very seriously.  The skins have played well in the second half of football games on both sides of the football which means the halftime adjustments have been effective.  Maybe they could grab a couple pointers from coach Bill Belichick and get these adjustments made before the game starts.  SMH

The Skins travel to the West Coast and will play the late game in Oakland this Sunday.  The Raiders may be the Redskins first win of the season which will finally put them headed in the right direction.  It really is a must win situation for the Skins as they are going to be on a "Bye Week" next week and then face the Cowboys in Dallas.  There's really not much to say about the NFC East this year except the fact of one team must to win when they play each other.  With that being said, the Dallas Cowboys lead the division at 2-1, then the Eagles in second at 1-2, followed by the Giants and Redskins with their matching 0-3 records.  Everybody let's roll down our windows and toss out the "Wild Card" opportunities for this year. Winning your division is the easiest way to make the playoffs and the only way an NFC East team will do it this year. SMH

Week 2 The Washington Redskins make NFL History at Lambeau field today!!! Redskins 20, Packers 38

Landover Leap at Lambeau Field?

Sunday at Pluckers in Allen, TX
Being a Redskins fan here in Dallas, TX leaves you with a few choices to watch the game.  Directv NFL Sunday Ticket, visit a friend who has it or find a table at your local bar are your options.  To keep this blog alive I forced myself into a crowded Dallas Cowboy Pub and sat at a table full of Packer fans.  It's pretty interesting watching the game while 6 other games are playing at the same time on different TVs.  Wearing my #10 Robert Griffin III Redskins jersey, I screamed as loud as I could when Brian Orakpo was the second player to sack Aaron Rodgers in the first quarter.  This sack apparently was simultaneous to a great Kansas City Chiefs defensive play (who eventually beat the Cowboys) and the Cowboy fans all looked over at me as the crickets began chirping :)

3-0, 10-0, 17-0, 24-0 the Green Bay Packers were simply kicking the Washington Redskins ass up and down the field as I heard all about it from the 3 drunken "Cheese Head" fans at my table.  The last offensive Packer play of the half was almost a touchdown as James Jones reached for the pylon loosing his grip of the football.  This touchdown would have made the game 31-0 however by rule this 6'' mistake awarded the Redskins a touchback and possession of the football again.  RG3 knelled the snap as the Skins conceded the half.

Suite at Fed Ex with Mom and Dad
The Redskins may be the first team in NFL history to have a punter exit the game with a toe injury from too many kicks in the first half.  Today however they did make NFL history for letting another quaterback pass for 480 yards while also letting a runningback rush for 132 yards in the same game.  Commentator and ex New York Giant Michael Strahan referred to a slow Griffin as R2D2 on the Fox halftime show .  If RG3 can't manage score at least 14 points in the first half against the Detroit Lions next week then he deserves a starting position on the bench. "You can't overreact, but you know there's a sense of urgency," Mike Shanahan said.

I would recommend for any fantasy football owners to start Detroit players to include but not limited to Mathew Stafford, Reggie Bush or Megatron Calvin Johnson.  The Lions should be a winnable game for the Skins and there not in that big of a hole at this point.  The Cowboys, Giants and Eagles all lost yesterday making the 0-2 Redskins only one game back for the NFC East lead.  :)  Thanks to all of my friends on Facebook and LinkedIn for critiquing my blog last week and leaving constructive comments to make this better.

Week 1 Redskins pull off a "VICTORY" at Fed Ex making the game a respectable loss. Redskins 27, Eagles 33

Half of the Redskins Game

Kenny Chesney at Fed Ex Field

Redskins Defense in the 2012 matchup at Fed Ex
RG3's return for the 2013 season was one of the most anticipated events since Deion Sanders and Bruce Smith came to Washington in 2000 and/or the return of Joe Gibbs in 2004.  Early tailgaters overflowed the parking lots, filling themselves with that football spirit and high expectations of the first game of the 2013 NFL season.  Game time was finally here as #10 Robert Griffin the third was presented pounding his fists on the ground followed by sprinting the entire field holding the Redskins flag.

The first half of the Washington Redskins season opener proved that bringing a fast paced "College Style" offense to the NFL would be very effective for the Eagles and their new coach Chip Kelly. Mike Shanahan  however equally made his bold statement that the Burgundy and Gold would be an easy win for any NFL team as he brought a "High School Style" strategy.  The electrifying opening kickoff was downed by Philadelphia as Mike Vick and the Eagles offense took to battle.

It seemed almost effortless as the Eagles flew down the field in the first minutes of the game before a controversial call would change the score board inside of the Redskins 10.  Ryan Kerrigan tipped a backwards pass that was left for the referee to collect as DeAngelo Hall continued the play and returned the fumble 75 yards for a touchdown. This play got the Redskins on the board first and the Defense back on the field.  The Eagles continued to easily march down the field for the rest of the first half scoring 26 points while the Redskins only got 2 first downs in the half.  The fans at Fed Ex booed as the Skins retreated to the locker room disappointed in their 9 yards of passing.

It's painfully obvious that "RGknee" :) is not healthy or game ready at this point and should be recovering to protect the Skins future.  Apparently Dr. Andrews is a secret Dallas Cowboys fan and would like to see a 50% RG3 stumble his way to a 50% season (8 and 8) or receive another season ending injury.  The second half of football started with a big question, is RG3 ready or should he be on the bench?  Robert Griffin did improve as the game continued but never looked 100%.

2 first downs into the Redskins first drive of the 2nd half had fans who hadn't left yet getting excited about a potential comeback.  The hopes of this game winning rally from a 26 to 7 Redskins deficit would end on the next play where RG3 threw his second interception of the day into quadruple coverage.  This folly was followed by a touchdown drive on the next possession giving the Skins the 7 points that they scored in the 3rd quarter.  Kai Forbath missed the field goal when finally given the opportunity, but this play did not seem to have a direct connection with the Redskins loss.

Washington ended the game on a positive note as Philly was held to 7 points in the second half.  Griffin racked up 2 touchdowns with 329 passing yards on a conservative "bend but don't break" defense.  Alfred Morris however could only manage to get 12 carries totaling in 45 rushing yards; meanwhile LeSean McCoy accumulated 184 rushing yards, most of them in the first half.  The Eagles have some questions regarding the health of Mike Vick in the later part of a NFL season, but the Redskins have a few more questions than that.
RG3 and Vick meeting at their 2012 matchup

If you're the Washington Redskins, it's time to seriously consider that fact that Griffin is still hurt and RB Alfred Morris' rushing success is directly tied to his quarterbacks' performance.  The NFC East Championship season puts the Skins in a more difficult schedule matching them up to an angry Green Bay Packers team coming off of a loss.  A winning season cannot be defined after week one but hard work that will be required to accomplish this goal going forward.
